Torngat Metals launches an independent opinion survey in Sept-Îles

Sept-Îles, May 27, 2026 – Torngat Metals today announces the launch of an opinion survey entitled Voix Locales (Local Voices), which will be conducted by Voconiq, an independent firm specializing in community-level research. Tying in with the Strange Lake project, which includes the construction of a rare earth separation plant in the Pointe-Noire industrial district of Sept-Îles, this initiative reflects Torngat Metals’ “active listening” commitment to local residents.

The survey is designed to gain insight into the concerns, needs and priorities of people living near the proposed separation plant site, which in turn will guide the company’s future decisions and actions. It will also ensure accurate data collection and open dialogue while identifying key issues for the Sept-Îles community.

The related questionnaire will be available online until June 23, 2026 and should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. It will be followed by occasional flash surveys tracking residents’ views over time. All responses provided will be treated by Voconiq with complete confidentiality. The aggregated survey results will be shared with local residents.

By taking part, survey respondents will also be helping to support two local organizations: the Maison des organismes communautaires de Sept-Îles (MOCSI), a central hub for the non-profit sector, and the Comptoir alimentaire Nishk, a food bank. For each questionnaire completed, a donation will be made to the organization selected by each respondent as a token of appreciation for their participation.

Local residents are invited to complete the survey at the following address: LINK
