Torngat Metals

Torngat Metals’ presence on social media and other discussion-oriented digital platforms seeks to create a space in which all stakeholders may enter into constructive and respectful discussions on a variety of topics, including the mining project, environmental impact studies, environmental issues, partnerships with communities, company-related news and developing an independent supply chain for critical metals.

We encourage open dialogue and questions. However, to ensure that discussions remain safe, respectful and relevant, certain rules apply.

Personal identity

Torngat Metals’ social media accounts are not anonymous. Internet users wishing to interact must clearly identify themselves.

Torngat Metals also reserves the right not to post a comment or not to respond to it if the author’s identity is unclear or if the content violates the rules of good conduct. At the same time, this does not constitute a commitment to systematically respond to acceptable comments.

Identity theft or impersonation, whether involving a team member, partner, researcher or anyone else, is strictly prohibited.

Rules of good conduct

In order to maintain a safe discussion space that is open to all stakeholders:

  • Any content deemed hateful, discriminatory, violent, intimidating, racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic or that seeks to harass any individual or group is prohibited and will be deleted.
  • Any comment deemed defamatory, obscene, threatening, abusive, illegal or off-topic may also be deleted without notice.
  • Personal attacks, incendiary language, malicious insinuations or deliberate provocations will not be tolerated.
  • Messages written in upper-case, which may be construed as shouting, may be deleted (not including abbreviations and acronyms).
  • Sending repeated messages or posting the same comment more than once is considered spamming and said messages/comments will be deleted.
  • Advertising, solicitation and calls for mobilization are prohibited.
  • Attempts to spread disinformation concerning environmental impact studies, scientific data or the mining project may be moderated to ensure that discussions are based on accurate and verifiable information.

Torngat Metals always expresses disagreement respectfully and expects Internet users to do the same.

Content
  • Conversations are designed to exchange views on project issues, sustainable development, geological studies, the environment, human resources, partnerships and company news.
  • Off-topic comments may be moved or deleted if they impede the discussion underway.
  • Hyperlinks are permitted if they are directly related to the topic. The inclusion of two links in the same message may lead to deletion.
  • Torngat Metals may moderate but does not modify comments. Posted comments will thus appear on an “as is” basis.
  • We will respond to a question in a timely manner if a response is relevant and in accordance with legal requirements.

Comments pertaining to potential, imminent or ongoing legal disputes will be deleted in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

On some platforms, posted messages cannot be deleted by the author. We therefore encourage Internet users to reflect on the consequences of their comments before posting them.

Language use

Communications relating to the project, which is being carried out in Quebec and Labrador, are provided in both English and French. In accordance with Quebec’s Charter of the French Language, French remains the primary language of communication in Quebec. English may be used if required due to the nature of the activities in question or to mining/energy sector terminology, or to meet the needs of stakeholders located outside Quebec. In the case of bilingual communications, the French-language version takes precedence for activities carried out Quebec.

Information authenticity

Internet users must ensure that the content they post complies with copyright and confidentiality rights and does not violate any third-party rights.

Spreading false information or misleading content will not be tolerated.

Dissemination of comments/content

When posting a comment or content on an account belonging to Torngat Metals, Internet users grant the company a free and unlimited licence to use and disseminate said comment or content, in particular if required to store and archive discussions in the public domain.

Internet users acknowledge that comments posted on the Internet may remain accessible for indeterminate periods of time.
